Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By accessing this website and registering, nominating or voting in the TUT SRC & SFC 2026 Elections, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy & POPIA Notice.

2. Eligibility

Participation is limited to registered TUT students. You confirm that any information you submit — including student number, contact details and nomination information — is true, accurate and belongs to you.

• 49.8 is not a member of staff at Tshwane University of Technology;
• 49.9 does not seek election to the ISRC and CSRC at the same time; and
• 49.10 a student who is elected into the SRC who no longer complies with the requirements of his/her constitution automatically forfeits his/her membership with immediate effect and is replaced in accordance with the procedures contained in the Constitution.

3. Account & authentication

Access is secured using a one-time PIN sent to your email. You are responsible for keeping your PIN and account confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not impersonate another student or submit false information
• Do not attempt to vote more than once or bypass election controls
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the platform
• Do not use the platform for campaigning outside approved channels

Breach of these rules may result in disqualification and, where applicable, disciplinary or legal action.

5. Processing of personal information

IEMSA processes your personal information solely for election administration in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

6. Availability & changes

We take reasonable steps to keep the platform available but do not warrant uninterrupted access. We may update these Terms or the published election timetable as required; material changes will be communicated on the website.
